The Wm. Powell Company (Powell Valves) Completes Capital Infrastructure Investment in China
Powell Valves announces the completion of the third and final phase of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Yancheng, China.
CINCINNATI, Ohio, (October 10, 2015) – The Wm. Powell Company (Powell Valves) recently completed the third and final phase of the new state of the art manufacturing facility in China.
Phase one consisted of constructing a new 400,000 square manufacturing facility, phase two was machinery and test equipment upgrades and the third and final phase was construction of a 6,000 square foot cryogenic cleaning facility.

Powell now has cryogenic cleaning capabilities in Orangeburg, South Carolina and Yancheng City, China. “Duplicating what we have done for many years in Orangeburg South Carolina into our Yancheng City facility enables us to support our industrial gas and LNG customers on a global scale” Tim Fries, vice president sales & marketing North American & International. “We have compressed our lead-times significantly to service our end user customers who play in this space globally.”
Cincinnati-based Wm. Powell Co., founded in 1846, manufactures a wide variety of bronze, iron, steel and cryogenic valves, and corrosion-resistant alloys for Class 125 to Class 4500 pressure service. Primary customers are in the petrochemical, industrial-gas, pulp-and-paper, pharmaceutical, hydrocarbon-processing, food-processing, mining, power-generation, pipeline, chemical and mechanical-construction industries.
