Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Set up and operate a variety of machines to produce/modify precision parts. Includes applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures

Essential Functions

  • Set up and operate a variety of machines to produce/modify precision parts. Includes applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • Time Management of one's own time and the time of others.
  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • The ability to adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions quickly and repeatedly.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School diploma and 5-10 years machining experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot on the spot
  • Can assist QC in determining control dimensions to be charted.
  • Communicated effectively with team members as well as management.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.

Physical Requirementse

Required to stand for extended periods. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, lift and walk. Maximum unassisted lift is 30 pounds. The proper PPE is required.

Environmental Conditions

Working in a manufacturing environment in a safe manner for employee, employees, product and machinery. Factory is not climate controlled.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Responsible for plant operation and maintenance, enforcing plant policies and procedures, plant production goals, establishing and maintaining community relations, and fostering a well-trained and motivated staff.

Essential Functions

  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company.
  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant.
  • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
  • Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules.
  • Select and train staff.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
  • Responsible for the product quality control for the plant.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Plant operations and maintenance positions will report to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Required High School diploma/trade school.  Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering a plus. 
  • 5+yrs. experience working in a manufacturing environment supervising employees.
  • Experience with ISO Quality standards a plus.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects.  
  • Must have experience with working on computers and using Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
  • Must display above average skills in organizing paperwork and keeping projects up to date.
  • Strong work ethic with a “make it happen” attitude.

Provide assistance with quality improvement within the plant and the overall quality department. Use of basic inspection and measurement tools.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with quality related programs and procedures and direction of plan to the other QA/QC personnel. 
  • Inspection of parts and products at receiving, in-process, and final production stages.
  • Assist with establishing process improvements and improve the product quality to reduce product defects.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment in a safe manner for employees, employee and product/machinery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus 2-3 years of quality experience within the manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively within all departments.
  • Strong spelling, grammar and communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Required to stand for extended periods. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, lift and walk. Maximum unassisted lift is 20 pounds. Proper PPE required when working on the manufacturing floor.
